We have been cat-less ever since our beloved Milo died over a year ago now. We had him and his brother, Otis for twenty years. I did not think I would get anymore, but these two needed a home, and I decided to give it a try. We have 3 dogs and they have not been around cats much, especially Buddy, who is a Cur dog. I was reluctant to introduce the cats to the dogs, and rightfully so.
It did not go well. I saw the "wild" literally come out of our bulldog, Petey. And that set the other two off and the poor little kitties were petrified! Lucky for them they were in a cage at the introduction. Well, silly me, got the idea to put the pet carrier with the cats in it, into the chain link dog pen and let them out to roam. It never occurred to me that the Momma cat would BOLT up the fence and into the nearby Cedar tree. Where she spent several hours, even though we had shut the dogs up.
Well by the end of the day we had both kitties safe in the man cave above the garage and a new litter box and all the trimmings, eh um. So, for now, they are safe from our vicious dogs. B. is going to introduce the dogs to them, one at a time. He is very good with animals and much smarter about them than I ever will be about their nature.

My Trip To Pittsburgh

I was in Pittsburgh as you all know celebrating Joshua's graduation ceremony. I was also there for a lot of other activites like watching Jacob play baseball, Going on a boat ride on the Ohio River, Going on a Taste Tour with Kathy in the "Strip District." Here are a few photos from my trip. The lady on the left is the "Cheese Lady", we had some of the best cheese I ever tasted there during our taste tour. The beer cheese was the best. They had over 500 different kinds of cheese! I was in cheese heaven!Me and my second son, Joshua on Mother's Day

Trip to Pittsburgh
There is a wonderful park in Pittsburgh that is just a short walk from my son's home, named Frick Park. There is a cement slide that the children slide down on cardboard. Casey has been doing this since she was 1 and a 1/2!! Now she is three and is an old pro at it!! I had so much fun with the grands on my trip. But, the highlight and main reason for this trip was to watch my second son, Joshua, receive his Doctorate degree, which he earned last December. My heart swelled 3 times it's size when they announced his name and degree! It has been a long hard road for him and his family. They have made many sacrifices to get here. I am proud of all the family for making this happen. It takes support, encouragement and lots of love and patience to accomplish such a fete.

Happy May Day!

Well, no one left a surprise bouquet of May flowers on my door step, but Mother Nature did. Flowers have been blooming since the first of April and all bringing new color to my life. May Day was one of my favorite holidays growing up in Ohio. We did the May Pole Dance and made small paper baskets to put wild flowers in and I just loved the magic of that day. It was like our first day of spring. I loved it. I hope you all enjoy the wonderful colors and flowers today!
